so, life has been pretty busy with the new house and all.

i thought, this morning while driving to work, how i will be ready for the house to be done so we can actually have some more interaction and "hang-out time" with our friends. it reminded me of that verse in the Bible warning us against foregoing meeting together, but rather to meet and encourage one another... and how iron sharpens iron.

it's much easier to run a race when you've got a partner beside you. it's much harder to do things alone, but when you've got someone to help keep you encouraged when you're down... things don't seem to be quite as bad.

i think it's important, even for married couples, to meet with other guys/gals to sharpen each other... what one couple is learning in their marriage might be that very thing that sparks another couple to dig in to the Word even more...

or what one person is learning in his or her personal walk might just be that bit of encouragement another person needs to continue taking those small steps of faith.

we complain about people quite often, but we really need each other... i think our complaints are centered around the fact that we put people on a high pedestal and when they don't live up to our expectations, we can't believe how they've failed us.

but when we view people as people... see our need for community.... and see how GOD alone is who can provide the "meaning" our soul so desperately thirsts for... then we are able to experience life in the way that, i think, God intended for it to be.

'earthly life' is not easy, but God promises that this life is full of joy and blessings when we are focused on Him and do things "HIS" way...

we need the encouragement and support that other people can provide to us... but when they let us down, we have to realize that.. they're people... just like us. it's God who holds us all together.

House...

Things have been really busy lately... between my job, Meredith's job, the new house construction, and all the other things we have going on, we have been busy folks the past several weeks.

The house is nearing completion and we are incredibly excited. The electrician was installing light fixtures today, so they should be done tomorrow--which means we'll have power to the house...

We plan to close on Nov 23, so we'll be moving in shortly after that. I'm going to post more pictures on Facebook this weekend, I think, so be on the lookout for those.

I'm not sure "when" yet, but we plan to have some Christmas parties and things once we get all moved in... my piano is being moved Dec 2, so we'll be in good shape after that's moved!

Sorry for not posting on the blog very much. It's hard to post on a blog when I have to be at home on my mac to update it--I love macs, but that's one thing that I don't like about the "mobile me" package... I wish there was a way to integrate it in with another blogging service or something so that I can update from any computer.

Anyway, that's what's going on... I'll update again soon with some info about what the latest status is on the house and all that.
